    Greetings from Kentucky

    Hello All
Just found this wonderful site a couple of weeks ago and boy, am I ever excited!
I have just purchased a Weber Kettle and 100 pounds of charcoal to start, I'll be heading over to the grills and smokers section next to seek assistance in my next purchases.
My budget already hates this place but my stomach over rules :-)
Looking forward to a wonderful journey and new friends.
    Thanks in advance
    Brian

Welcome to The Pit Brian. For starters, a good digital thermometer or two are extremely helpful with both grillin' and smokin'. And with the kettle a Slow N Sear will allow you to smoke meat easily. Also, if you have not had a reverse seared steak, the SnS will help you make the best steak you have ever had.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yes it seems I already have the disease without even firing up the grill yet! I posted my first request for help in grills and smokers section.

Welcome to the Pit! We are happy to have you. I see MCS is already sinking in. (More Cooker Syndrome) The only cure is, in fact, more cookers!

Lexington. Isn't Mutton Western KY? Paducah Madisonville area?

UNK I have eaten lamb in restaurants, but have never cared much for it. I did a lamb shoulder low and slow like a Boston Butt and I really enjoyed it. I hope to try some one day in Western Kentucky.

I think it is an acquired taste. I have had it oven roasted and it is strong.
