    Greetings from Central Massachusetts

    I folks. I've been lurking for about 4 months now, finally decided to say hello.

    Tried my first smoking after I picked up a used Charbroil Offset for $25 on Craigslist.
    Did a turkey (Rockwell style) and a rack each of beef and baby backs.
    Everything came out good and I was hooked. I've since bought a Propane Masterbuilt vertical smoker.

    This site has completely changed the way I think about cooking meat, and no surprise to any of you I've been doing it badly for my entire life.

          Welcome to the Pit fcarpcarp ...👍 It's fairly common to feel humbled my the facts and myths you discover in AR. Most of us had little knowledge about how to properly grill a steak before learning of the reverse sear method. Meat thermometers only came installed in turkeys on thanksgiving. Beef love was considered animal pornography. Learning how little I knew about BBQ & Grilling after 40 years of burning and undercooking steaks it was daunting to know how little I actually knew.🙈
