Welcome from Northern Virginia and we're glad to have you in The Pit! Great job on adopting that wayward cooker. I lucked out and picked up my gently used Weber Kettle for free. My buddy's mother-in-law didn't like cooking on it (crazy, I know) so it needed a good home. It now has one on my deck.

Many thanks for the warm welcomes and advice. So, my wife came home last night and noticed the covered kettle in the garage. the conversation went like this:
Wife: What's that? Is that a new smoker?
Me: Homina, homina, homina....uh, yes
Wife: What do you need that for? Are you sick?
Me: Uh, yes...MCS
I froze, but she got over it.
