Welcome to The Pit bluesmoke! We’re glad you’re here and thanks for introducing yourself! Great find! I think the food you cook on the kettle will help your case a lot.

Since this is your first post, please check out our homework assignment post for new members, it contains a few how-tos and please-dos. This will help you learn your way around so you can get the best experience from our forum.

Also, it's very important that you:

        1. Give us an email address you actually use. You can check the email we have on file for you by clicking your name in the upper-right, then User Settings, then the Notifications tab. You currently cannot change your email on file with us since it’s tied to your Pitmaster Club account as well as our payment processor, Stripe. Don’t worry though, we’d be happy to change it for you. PM (private message) "Huskee" with your email change request, or via email at huskee[at]AmazingRibs[dot]com.

        2. Add the domain AmazingRibs.com to your email safe list. We NEVER spam! This is important to receive notices about your account, such as if you’re up for renewal or are ever drawn as our monthly Gold Medal Giveaway winner, which is open to all USA members or those with a USA delivery address (we’d hate to have to pick another person because you don’t answer us)!

Hope to hear & see more from you!

Welcome from Northern Virginia and we're glad to have you in The Pit! Great job on adopting that wayward cooker. I lucked out and picked up my gently used Weber Kettle for free. My buddy's mother-in-law didn't like cooking on it (crazy, I know) so it needed a good home. It now has one on my deck.

Many thanks for the warm welcomes and advice. So, my wife came home last night and noticed the covered kettle in the garage. the conversation went like this:

Wife: What's that? Is that a new smoker?
                    Me: Homina, homina, homina....uh, yes
Wife: What do you need that for? Are you sick?
                    Me: Uh, yes...MCS

I froze, but she got over it.

Wait until they have the soft-shell sales down at Ipswich Seafood, then let us know. You'll be using that little rig to amaze her!

Welcome, from Oklahoma!! You have some mighty fine apple orchards up there, that weren't stingy with a bit of wood here and there when I would ask. Mighty good on Lobster, too!! Maybe a bit of that will help her see things your way?
