I was introduced to smoking meat at an early age growing up in Iowa. My dad had a friend with an old refrigerator turned into a smoker. It was mostly fish in the summer some of you may cringe but his smoke carp was amazing plus whatever else we would catch. Then in the winter was the typical meats like venison, pork, and beef. I was always amazed how different woods would make things taste. No advanced forward first grill/smoker was a offset New Braunfels one of the originals heavy steal. My wife sold it at a yard sale and I was upset and she bought me a Weber performer to replace it. I always miss the old smoker and my neighbor after weeks of negotiations bought it back and surprised me with it. This Christmas my wife bought me the Pit Barrel Cooker after I talked about it for weeks. Long story short I am learning about the new cooker and excited about what I can do with it. I live in Spring Valley, AZ if anybody is out this way look me up we can enjoy a beverage, cigar and do some grilling. Semper FiTags: None
