    Newbie!

Welcome to The Pit Frenchy19! Thanks for joining up and for you support. What are you cooking on?

Since this is your first post, please check out our homework assignment post for new members, it contains a few how-tos and please-dos. This will help you learn your way around so you can get the best experience from our forum.

Also, it's very important that you:
    1. Give us an email address you actually use. You can set or change your email on file with us by clicking your name in the upper-right, then User Settings, then the Notifications tab.
    2. Add the domain AmazingRibs.com to your email safe list. We NEVER spam! This is important to receive notices about your account, such as if you’re up for renewal or are ever drawn as our monthly Gold Medal Giveaway winner, which is open to all USA members or those with a USA delivery address (we’d hate to have to pick another person because you don’t answer us)!

Hope to hear & see more from you!

Thanks, Huskee! Will do the homework right now; as a teacher myself, I would be a hypocrite if I did not follow said directions!

Welcome to the Pit! Is this your Christmas gift? It is a great gift. I got mine from my daughter for Christmas 2014.

Welcome aboard Frenchy19! Great choices on the Weber kettle and Thermapen. Do you have a leave-in thermometer to monitor pit and meat temps?

Yes, I do, fuzzydaddy. I have a ThermpPro TP20 that works well for me.

Thanks, all! Just ordered a Slow N' Sear, and I am looking forward to playing with that once it arrives. Small family at home right now with 3 daughters off to college, so it is just my wife and me. Thought about getting a bigger smoker;one of the reasons I joined this site was to get some input on a new smoker, and a number of folks recommended the Slow N Sear. The price was right, and many here have some pretty good things to say about it. Will report back once I receive it and give it a spin!

I like my Slow 'N Sear so much I bought a 2nd and a 3rd, but I only have 2 Weber Kettles. I need to rectify this in 2017!

Frenchy19, Welcome to "The Pit"! You are Now Enrolled in the BBQ Univ.! Attendance and Participation are Mandatory!
Enjoy "The Pit"! You won't go wrong with the S 'n S, I would recommend the Drip & Griddle Pan to go with the S 'n S! I believe You will have better Temp Control with the Combinations! I also have a BBQGURU DigiQ-2 w/Pit Viper Fan Temp Controller on My Weber! It is Probably Not Necessary But???
