    Hello from the Chicago Suburbs

I've been a subscriber/lurker for a few years and figured it's time to join the fun. I've learned an immense amount from all of the people here, so truly, thank you. I've been smoking various meats ever since I took the plunge on a 22" WSM. Thanks to you guys, I think I have a problem and need some form of BA (BBQer's anonymous).

Welcome to The Pit stelth! Happy to have you here and it's great to hear from you.

Since this is your first post, please check out our homework assignment post for new members, it contains a few how-tos and please-dos. This will help you learn your way around so you can get the best experience from our forum.

Also, it's very important that you:
    1. Give us an email address you actually use. You can set or change your email on file with us by clicking your name in the upper-right, then User Settings, then the Notifications tab.
    2. Add the domain AmazingRibs.com to your email safe list. We NEVER spam! This is important to receive notices about your account, such as if you’re up for renewal or are ever drawn as our monthly Gold Medal Giveaway winner (we’d hate to have to pick another person because you don’t answer us)!

Hope to hear & see more from you!

Welcome aboard stelth! Do you have any favorites to cook? For me, it's pork ribs and butts.

PaynTrain I like how you think. By the way, I have a 8.5 lb butt dry brining right now. Wife is out of town.

Welcome aboard stelth! I have heard of KC, Texas, the Carolinas, Alabama, being the home of BBQ. I sorta think we might have more members from Chitown area than any other place. Envious that you are in Meathead's village. Enjoy the ride!
You just may have broken the lurking record!

The nice thing about Chicago is we get BBQ from everywhere. It's kind of nice not having a defined style. Nothing is taboo or off limits.

And Woo! A new world record!

A big part of this site is our unbiased equipment and product reviews. We love playing with toys and we have no problem calling them the way we see them. Masterbuilt MPS 340/G ThermoTemp XL Propane Smoker

This is the first propane smoker with a thermostat, making this baby foolproof. Set ThermoTemp’s dial from 175° to 350°F and the thermostat inside will adjust the burner just like an indoor kitchen oven. All you need to do is add wood to the tray above the burner to start smokin’.

              Green Mountain Grills Trek smoker

Green Mountain’s portable Trek Smoker is one mean tailgating and picnic machine. Grilla Pellet Smoker proves good things come in small packages

We always liked Grilla. The small 31.5″ x 29.5″ footprint makes it ideal for use where BBQ space is limited, as on a condo patio.

Blackstone Rangetop Combo: Griddle And Deep Fryer In One

The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, grilled cheese, and so much more. And why deep fry indoors when you can avoid the smell and mess by doing it outside!

Compact Powerful Sear Machine For Your Next Tailgater

Char-Broil’s Grill2Go x200 is a super-portable, fun little sizzler made of heavy, rust-proof cast aluminum. The lid snaps shut. Grab the handle and you’re off to the party! The Pit Barrel Cooker May Be Too Easy

The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It is absolutely positively without a doubt the best bargain on a smoker in the world. Period. This baby will cook circles around the cheap offset sideways barrel smokers because temperature control is so much easier.
