    EPH here, from just outside DC

    Hi folks! Greetings from suburban Northern Virginia. I've gotten interested in outdoor cookery this summer -- I upgraded from a rusted-out Char-Griller gasser to a Char-Broil Kettleman (charcoal) and a Smoke Vault 24" (LP smoker). I'm really enjoying the science-based approach here at AR -- and the friendly community that supports it.

    I did a brisket over the holiday weekend -- I think I'm officially obsessed with smoking and grilling, and I don't mind one bit.

              Welcome, neighbor! I'm also in FFX Co. very close to Springfield, and get my specialty meats from Springfield Butcher (tend to do Costco or Wegmans for standard stuff).

                My brisket came from Springfield Butcher. :-) You're probably aware, but they regularly do Groupon gift certificates -- $17 gets you $30 in the form of a gift certificate. If you spend $100, you can use two (which can happen if you're grilling a bunch of ribeyes, for example).
