Hello all,
Happy to be a part of this site... I've been cooking outdoors for about 7 years now. Started with a 26" Weber Kettle for grilling burgers and carne asada. I found this site a several years back and realized how versatile that contraption. Since then I've graduated to smoking turkeys, ribs, tri tip and pork butt. My wife bought me a 18.5" WSM last year and now I'm really cooking! I hope to learn even more as an active member.
Cheers,
Joseph
Hey Joseph! Howdy neighbor! I'm in San Diego also. I have been cooking on a WSM 18.5" for years now and its great.
Iowa Meat farms and Seisels Meats are good places, I just want to make sure you've heard of Valley Farm Market out in Spring Valley. Cheaper than the others and fantastic quality meat. Never frozen. Enormous beer selection also I live downtown now but still drive out there. Anyway, good luck to you
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Welcome JDeLaRosa! That 26" Weber seems like a nice sized grill, I'd like to own one myself.
When you get a minute, check out Pit Boss' Welcome & Announcements channel, as well as the tips posts in that channel. These will help you learn your way around The Pit, as well as set up your signature. There's also a post that explains the best way to post nice big pics here... we like to see bragging pictures of equipment and your cooks. We look forward to hearing more from you! Enjoy!
