Welcome to The Pit mgcain12! Great to have you here. Going from electric to charcoal is a huge flavor boost, congrats on the nice cooker. I agree BBQ Pitmasters is sort of a letdown in the education department but great if inter-team drama is your thing. (Not mine).

Hello from Southwick MA...
I only recently (~ 1yr) got into smoking and BBQ and I am completely hooked. I have an Electric Masterbuilt but just upgraded to the 18.5 Smokey Mountain. What a difference! My daughter just got me the Meathead book for fathers day and my wife actually read it cover to cover before I could get my hands on it. So far I've done a lot of ribs, chicken, and one Brisket point and all have come out excellent - er - depending on who you ask. I have a LOT to learn and can't learn it by watching BBQ Pitmasters - so I'll be lurking and posting and reading and experimenting and trying to get better at this wonderful craft.
Great to be here!Tags: None
