Greeting from Western New York - guess I've been lurking in the shadows for long enough and decided to join the fray! My long time BBQ addiction shows no signs of letting up, and I'm always looking to see what new tricks and techniques are out there. I've got an array of weapons in the arsenal, and love the happy faces on family and friends when we find an excuse to make some smoke. The War Dept. (aka the wife) wrongly thinks I have enough toys, and I'm always working on mods to the current fleet. The flagship is a Pitts 'n Spitts offset, which I bought used and really enjoy when I'm cooking big. Also have an Acorn for smaller parties, a homegrown mega charcoal/wood grill (think Weber rancher but bigger) that evolved from a conical bottom tank stand, an old Belsen trailer mounted gas/charcoal rig that has both a flat rack and a rotisserie, a Blackstone 36" griddle (LOVE!), and last but not least a very under utilized Jenn-Aire gas grill for when I'm lazy or need to cook a hot dog for a picky kid. Almost forgot my stone firepit that conveniently accepts a height adjustable grate - perfect for caveman meals. Oh, and the diamond plate toolbox that morphed into a vertical smoker, which I use primarily for cold smoking, but also houses an electric element controlled by an Auber. Maybe the War Dept. is right after all....

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
