Am I the first Norwegian on here? Anyway, I'm 42, live in Stavanger and work in the oil industry. Outdoors I cook on my Big Green Egg. Indoors I tend to use a sous vide. As you can tell, I love low and slow. I come here to find new exciting recipes and learn how to be a better cook.

My daughter is in Stavanger and I will visit her in September. We are going to do the "Norway in a Nutshell" from Oslo to Bergen.
Tell us when you BBQ a reindeer ok?

Are you bilingual or do Norwegians speak English? I'm VERY ignorant of these things. Either way it's great to have you here. I buy salmon from your neck of the woods....at least it SAYS Norwegian salmon on the package. You have great salmon farms. Lol...

Our native, and official, language is Norwegian, but kids here start learning English from when they're very young. My niece, who's 4, can count to ten and say some basic words. Dora the Explorer is in Norwegian and English here. We're just 5 million, so it's important for us to learn other languages. I also speak some German. And I understand Swedish and danish cos their languages are very similar to ours.

You'll love that trip - it's wonderful and the colors are beautiful in autumn. When in Stavanger you should hike up to the Pulpit Rock. It's awesome.
I've BBQ'd elk but no reindeer yet. I've made my own rub for use with game which incorporates juniper. When I'm happy with the recipe I'll share it on here.

Welcome, Snowman! I'm from Sweden, so not too far away. I'm using a green egg also. Funny you mention juniper, I prepped my meat with juniper berries some hours ago for today's bbq, will post pics and recipes later.
