Well, at least they can tell you something. MB has no idea when parts will be coming in.

Welcome from north Texas. You’ll have fun here. I’ll echo the kettle sentiments, but I really want a Grilla pellet grill. You’ll find that whatever you buy is only the first of many.

Initial review here and ongoing thoughts here. Probably due for another 6 month update.

IFindZeroBadCooks I forgot you had one, have you ever reviewed it here? If you haven’t, me and maybe others would like to hear your thoughts.

I have the Masterbuilt Gravity 560 which is a charcoal fueled smoker where you can set the temps like a pellet cooker. It could very well be a great pick. It cooks awesome food and MB has updated the parts recently that were the biggest weak points.

IFindZeroBadCooks I did. They told me they had some problems with the retrofit kits and had to have them re-manufactured

Welcome to the pit from the bbq capital of New England, Massachusetts. I have to agree with the Weber kettle to start. The ability to grill hot and fast as well as smoke low and slow can't be beat.

+1 especially on the Grilla guys, even though I have been waiting on the new controller for months now

Echo the other suggestions for the 22" or 26" kettle with Slow N Sear. https://snsgrills.com/

For pellets, we need more information about your needs. I generally recommend https://grillagrills.com as they have some good options for a variety of needs. I myself am planning on a OG Grilla purchase someday.

The Pit Barrel Cooker May Be Too Easy

The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It is absolutely positively without a doubt the best bargain on a smoker in the world. Period. This baby will cook circles around the cheap offset sideways barrel smokers because temperature control is so much easier.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.
