                Welcome from New York! There are a. lot of people with a lot of knowledge on these boards (I'm not one of them--but I'm learning), and if you're ever in the mood to nerd out about all things grill/barbecue/smoke-related, you will find plenty of people to join you.

                Also, I would like to second the the suggestion from jharner: the Slow N Sear attachment for my Weber has completely changed the game for me. My grilling was hit or miss and I didn't have the confidence to smoke. Now, I'm turning out perfectly medium-rare steaks with beautiful sears and smoking delicious short ribs and briskets with complete calm. It sounds as though, unlike me, you've already got a good grilling game, but I still recommend the SnS. It's one of those rare products that does everything it promises and really makes your (outdoor cooking) life better.
