You guys are going to love the BBQ it makes. Takes some effort (feeding so often) but the results are always well worth it!
I don't believe I have ever had a "so so" cook on the KBQ! And I am an amateur smoker!

I got one. But I bought it off a Pit member, so no net gain.

Mine is enroute, should be here Saturday. It's been delayed one day by FedEx. Life is so unfair! Can't sleep, can't eat. My MCS is killing me! I even put out cookies and milk for the FedEx guy.

I haven't cooked anything since last July and haven't eaten any home-cooked BBQ since October! We readied our house for sale, packed and moved, so I was too busy for too long. But we're settled in now, getting the backyard around and awaiting delivery of a cord of apple wood. Got some store-bought hardwood to get me going. Can't decide whether to cook chicken, pork, beef, turkey or what. All I can think is "ALL OF THE ABOVE!"

Doctor, Doctor, give me the cure! I got a bad case of lovin' Q!

Thanks for the help on the kit. I did see at the end of the KBQ Has Landed post he mentioned that he had started a restaurant, hope that is going well.

Welcome to the family. I don't know if BBQ_Bill still sells the kits or not, I doubt it as he is busy in making a business of barbecue. Kits were simple and could be assembled oneself. The door removal is a short piece of SS tubing, the handles are longer SS bolts with some springs for handles. I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow and if he doesn't respond you can try to assemble yourself.

Got mine last week, but didn’t get around to putting it together until today. Have some beef ribs dry brining in the fridge and ready to go tomorrow morning. Basic boring assembly pic below- don’t worry about all the stuff nearby, that isn’t where I’ll be using it!

For the record, I read every single post in the “KBQ Has Landed” so hopefully I’ll avoid rookie mistakes. I started on my meat smoking adventure in 2018 with a cheap Masterbuilt vertical gasser (still have it- use it after wrapping as an outdoor oven), moved to mainly using PBC in 2019, and decided to go stick burner here in 2020.

On a side note, does BBQ Bill still sell door kits?

Hi everyone. I'm fortunate to have accidentally stumbled into your neighborhood. I'm happy to find this resource. For the last 8 years, I have been using a Broil King Keg 5000 kamado style cooker and it has served me well. After much research on stick burners, I purchased a KBQ-60, and embarked on a whole new journey , learning and creating better BBQ. Everyone's happy with what's coming off the pit these days. My wife says that I am creating the best BBQ ever! I'm learning lots and I have to give a shout out to Bill Karau for his great invention!
