Picked up a prime grade brisket (full packet at 10lbs, $2.97 a pound) and some spare ribs to throw in the KBQ for Easter weekend (first brisket cook on KBQ). Also did some beans.
Brisket was easily the best one I have done! Great flavor and very moist.
Enjoyed a few frosty beverages while tending the fire. Beautiful cooking weather this past weekend in Houston.
HEB now has KOBE briskets for sale. 7 or 8 bucks a pound. Sounds like a good splurge when you get back off the road! They were all in the 70-90 buck range... Some day I will do one of those.... some day...
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.
