Its for stickburner fans who have too much free time during their cooks.

Yeah but honestly, it really lets me enjoy the cook. Hell sometimes I take my laptop outside and work from the patio table while loading logs.... Love it.

              There's none. Too easy

            #12
That's a beauty but too high tech for me. My rig is made from two Old Smokies. I build a fire (mostly dead-fall and storm-downed limbs from the oak and pecan trees in my and my neighbors' yards) in the lower half of the medium-sized one and then put the large one on top of it, with the hole in the bottom open, of course. I monitor the smoke chamber temp with a regular grill or smoker thermometer in the top hole and the meat temp with an external digital thermometer. It ain't fancy, but it works. If I need to add more wood, I can take the smoke chamber off without opening it up and jut add the wood to the "firebox."

I take regular logs and slice with a miter saw. I then split them with the Kindling Cracker XL.

I didn't find the small logs so I'm using regular sized logs. Got a few that fit pretty well.
