    Which 22" Weber Kettle ?

The original with just the tray underneath, or the new one with the one-touch cleaning system with the big cylinder ash catcher ? Any benefit vent-wise to one over the other ?

lol nice, I like the color, and I wish I would have gotten the ash catcher one but I didn't. Not that big a deal though.

I think the ash catcher system is worth the extra cash. Hope you got it!

Yup, the one with the big cylinder on the bottom. I've been dithering about getting a charcoal grille and the SnS pushed me over the edge.

Now I need to go get my gasser set up for some big thick T-bone type pork chops currently brining in the fridge.

Good for you! You'll be very, very happy!

I love my 22.5 OTS Kettle... and I might have to add an SnS to my array of goodies. Still haven't mastered the Smokenator (yet), but I can highly recommend a Vortex. Below is a link with lottsa photos in case you haven't seen this.

Here's a tip from this website, too. If your kettle leaks, you can use 4 large, black binder clamps to get a tighter seal. It really works - I was blown away when I tried it and will use them for every cook.

            Have Fun!

I use 6-8 binder clips with the SN. I am embarrassed to say that when I read the SN instruction booklet, I had to email the company to ask what the heck were binder clips.

I too was at a loss when hearing about "clamps". I'm not sure if I saw it on someone's photo, or in the MH article. TG! for pictures! - LOL!

BTW, you need the amazing GrillGrates and I plan on ordering a 4th to cover the gasser.

Get the OTG with the ash catcher and the arm for moving the fan blades that also control the bottom vents. It's well-worth the extra money and it comes with the hinged grate for adding coals for longer cooks.

It's here (gotta love Amazon Prime), set up, and I'm off to find a worth ribeye for the first cook.

Alas, we are not as fast as Amazon, but you should have received an email with the tracking number. Let me know if you didn't receive the email.

FYI, they both have the one touch system, just one has a tray and the other a can.

You sure about that? The last silver I looked at (it was an 18 that was on display as a raffle item at our local grocery store) had a bottom vent that was identical to the 3 side vents on my 14.5 WSM which is not the same as what's on my Performer or on my Mom-in-law's OTG.

Absolutely certain. The grill you saw sounds like a Jumbo Joe.

I have a 22.5 kettle with 3 intake vents / one-touch system. I'm pretty sure that the OTS (mine) has the same 3 vent setup as the OTG.

Here's my ash pan. Maybe coulda gone with a 12 quart.

Have fun with the kettle and Sns!
