Weber 22.5" Silver (since 2000)
Large BGE with BBQ Guru thermostatic blower (since 2006)
Hasty-Bake Legacy (July 2014)
Also owned COS and Weber Smokey Mountain for short time in early 2000's.
Thermapen instant thermometer.
William & Sonoma meat probe.
Taylor digital with remote display, meat probe but use for pit.
No cover and no problem like rust. I try to empty the ashes and close the top vent before it rains.

I have found that using a Weber cover simply gives my dogs something to tear off of my grill, thus knocking it over, scratching/denting it, and then ripping it apart so I have fake canvas shreds all over the yard. Whereas when I skip the cover, they leave everything alone and the grill is just fine.
Basically, the cover results in more damage!😬

One of my dogs routinely lifts a leg and marks my grills. Along with bird doodie, dog pee is a real turnoff for me, so covers are a must.
He's neutered, but still thinks he has to leave his "calling card" everywhere. Ugh.
But I once had an Irish setter who ripped up my motorcycle cover. I'm sure he would have happily ripped up a grill cover if we'd had one at the time. So can't win for tryin'...Last edited by IowaGirl; March 2, 2020, 08:39 PM.

Both of my Weber's ( Smokey Joe and 22 ) have lived their lives outside uncovered for 35 plus years. The only problem has been the wooden handles have fallen off my 22.Last edited by Timbo54; March 2, 2020, 10:19 PM.
