    Low quality parts on the kettle..

    I was to lift off the lid on my weber kettle today and Click image for larger version

    So i inspected the nuts holding the lid and to my surprise it was some crap quality..

      My first kettle handle was spot welded on. That came off as well. I guess I was lookin instead of cookin to many times.
      Like that color. Is that an after market lid holder? Never seen that before.

      HawkerXP Yes it is an original weber lidholder.. for the aftermarket.. perhaps only sold in Europe?

          the handles on my vintage 26 were spot welded,now I have convenient probe ports!

          The handle for the lid on my 22 is spot welded on. And seriously...knock the chunks offa that lid!

              No, they have never responded. I've contacted them twice too.

            I had to replace mine after 2 years. NE FL humidity is a destructive force, especially for cheap Weber parts.

              The same thing happened to my 26” kettle. I fixed it myself, too. An animal has now chewed the plastic handle so I have ordered a new one. The local hardware store was able to order it under warranty for me.
