    Weber Kettle lid vent "Umbrella"

Has anybody purchased or created a Weber Kettle lid vent "Umbrella". Would like some ideas so I can smoke in the rain and not worry about water raining in on my meat.

Nope. But I smoke in the rain, and don’t see it as a big problem. I guess the easiest solution is to put a floor standing porch umbrella so it covers the entire kettle.

      +1 on the patio umbrella.

As Henrik sez - just use a patio umbrella in a stand.

I use a 10’ X 10’ pop up canopy if it’s raining, which is pretty often up here in the Pacific Northwest.

Even in a heavy rain the amount of rain that will get thru that lid vent is very small and not worth worrying about during a normal length cook on a kettle.
On my kamados I have used a metal roof vent cap in the past during very long cooks if it is raining all day but I've found that really isn't' necessary.
If you do feel the need for something I'd try using some heavy duty aluminum foil and fold it to form a ten and then use a couple magnets to hold it to the lid.

I’m glad you used the most accurate measuring device... your eye.

You could get a chimney cap or make something out of sheet stock.

I capped my pk360 lid with a stainless rig. Held by threaded rods mounted to the lid. Works well but was a good bit of work.

Hard to follow that post from CaptainMike but here's my setup for rain. 4 X 6 foot ozark trail canopy. It's easy setup and take down and can be done by one person.

I like that you hire a squirrel to keep an eye on your cook.

Mr. Squirrel was trying to decide if he wanted to become a carnivore. Also glad to be out of the rain.

I bought a 10' cantilever umbrella off of amazon, with the base it was < $100. I like that it covers a huge area and there's no pole in my way or near the hot cooker. Easy to put up or take down, stays in that corner and has a small footprint.
