Looks t' be about 12-14 gauge, cold rolled. if'n I was to guess..

Or, I could be Totally Wrong, based 'pon previously accumulated data...

Steel workbench. Just cut a large hole and bolted it on.

4 Brackets and some bolts. Of course the bolt heads protrude into the kettle a bit so after mounting I hit them with the angle grinder.

Ha! The bench color is pretty much the only non-black heat resistant spray. I saw flat black, grey, and brown.

The kettle is stock "glen blue"

The thermometer is a
Tel-Tru BQ300 Barbecue Thermometer, 3 inch

I have to have a thermometer at grate level, my pk360 spoiled me for that. Matches the probe within about +/- 15F.

I should also mention that I drilled fan and probe ports as well.

If I had someone near me that could have retrofitted a steel work table, I would have popped for a new 26 Performer. I wish this had shown up two days ago.
