Reading this thread I am reminded of the anchoring bias where we tend to fixate on the first number we see and evaluate future numbers in relation to the original number. So if we see a 10k smoker, suddenly the 1k ones start to look quite reasonable….

It’s all relative isn’t it. Many years ago I would have looked at a $700 guitar and thought, "There’s NO WAY I’m spending that much." Now I see a $1000 guitar and think, "That’s a pretty good deal." LOL
Given what I’ve spent on some of my cookers…anything under $3500 seems reasonable so long as it’s built well. Though I might have a hard time justifying anything north of 4K. Weird. LOL
