    Almost ready to go!

    I actually was able to put this thing together - just now have to season it and hopefully smoke something this weekend.

          Not sure. I'm thinking I may start small and try a whole chicken. That way if I totally blow it, it won't be too much lost $. And if nothing else, I can make it edible and feed a few bites to the dog! I've even thought about just trying a couple of chicken breasts (don't like dark meat), but that seems like a lot of work for not much food.

          I'd love to hear any suggestions!

          Maybe a small pork butt. It can take any temperature swings you might experience when first learning a new smoker, and you and the dog will both enjoy it. Leftovers freeze really well too.
