Temperature controller for gas grill

I use one like this one for a propane heater, and it works pretty well.

If you want automated control, then things will get a lot more complicated. It can be done, but to home build a system with the needed feedback and control loops might be more trouble than it's worth.

Are you talking gas grill or smoker? Also, what brand and model is your cooker in question?

I have a BQ Grill patio cooker that works great. The one drawback is that temperature control is manual. Does anyone know where I can get a Gas valve that I will adjust flow to achieve a set temperature. I have seen videos, but I cannot seem to find a place to purchase. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
