Local Bj's has Frontier Lump 34# for $16.99. I have not used this before, looking for opinions. Is it good quality lump for the price?

I am not a fan. It is one of 2 brands that I give a solid pass on. The other is Cowboy. I will use Cowboy on a 500 plus degree Kamado clean on occaision.

Hopefully it has improved. Used to be laced with parquet floor scraps, varnished and painted chunks of unburned wood, and a moon rock or two. Back in the mid 90’s It was the running joke "it was made out of "$@"# house doors and floors off a fishing boat". Also back in those days Kmart used to stock a Sugar Maple Lump out of Canada under the Martha Stewart label that was exceptionally good. All fist size pieces few if any smalls.
