Just bought some Char-logs by mistake (Blues Log brand)! Thought it was regular lump, as I have been experimenting with diff lump brands lately. Now I have some questions. 1. Do most of you use them for low n slow vs. hot and fast? 2. Best way to light, chimney, starter cubes, or torch? 3. Has anyone used them in a PK360 yet? If so how did they do? Looks like I might have to get a bag of regular lump as well! Thanks.

I use them for low and slow only. When I do use them, I’ll mix them with B & B charcoal briquettes. I’ve never used them by themselves, but you certainly can. They burn very slow and take a while to light. I use 1 or 2 tumbleweeds to start my briquettes.

Low and slow only (so far) in my PBC.
I mix 6 or 8 of them in with briquettes, and light as normal with minion method.
I really like them. They seem to have extended burn time over briquettes

I use char-logs for low and slow. Any leftover pieces get mixed in B&B briquettes for hot and fast.

I light mine using chimney over the propane flame on a Weber Performer.

I picked some up after reading this thread, and they work wonders! I have been using B&B for all my cooks for the past few months, and I am really liking the results. The Char-Logs burn so consistently, and last for quite a long time.
