I find that the B&B Char-logs burn very slowly, and use them as a base under other charcoal and/or wood. They are very long lasting, and I don't think a snake setup is the way to go with them, as not enough will be ignited. I've used them as a layer at the bottom of the SNS on my kettle or kamado, and topped them with lit charcoal for long cooks. They would do well in a minion type setup.

Interesting how it worked out. I loaded it like a fairly heavy snake as this thing has a tendency to run away, it leaks like a sieve ordinarily and will burn with all bottom vents closed. The char logs were slow to light and burned very evenly but with all 3 1” vents open I could not get up to 225. I’m not done with these (have another 25 lbs) and I like the way they burned but have to figure out the air flow. Moved the ribs - of course I was cooking - to the kettle using another snake but with Kingsford, lit off what was still going on the char logs.

I’ll probably try them in the offset as a base layer and put some wood on top.
