Looking for a portable outdoor sink.

Sooo. As my wife and I are about to do some renovations to our kitchen she is basically banning me from using our future sink to clean my bbq stuff. Especially the greasy drip pans and grates.
    All suggestions will be appreciated.
Now keep in mind I live in the northeast and winter is approaching. So I need it to be portable for sure.
    Thanks in advance.

This is a good question and I am looking forward to people's suggestions. I have thought about it but have never asked. Thanks!

I just knew you would have the perfect answer. 🤦🏼🤣🤣

If it were me, I would suggest that since my beautiful wife’s beautiful hair regularly clogs the bathroom drain, she will instead need to acquire and use a portable outdoor shower.

Needless to say this is a high risk negotiating tactic. Good luck.

      LMFAO on this one.
Even though it’s her hair it some how turns around to be my fault anyway. 🤷🏼

    How about something like this:

All you need to do is plug the hole.

fzxdoc turned me on to using a hot water heater pan to clean Weber grates .... might be that simple an answer?

To add a link and photo to ecowper 's recommendation of a hot water heater drain pan...Just fill this with a citrus-based environmentally-friendly cleaner/degreaser and water and soak your grates in it. Not much scrubbing needed after they soak overnight. It's a relatively inexpensive solution.

I got one on Amazon, but it wasn’t expensive at all. Such a cool idea.

Thanks Kathryn. This just might be my best solution.
Small foot print and very portable.
Just gotta figure out where to dump the water. 🤔

On a similar subject, anyone have any ideas on the best way to clean the inside of my kettle lid? It’s full of black sooty buildup. I set it on the concrete last night and all sorts of black flakes dropped on the ground. I’m sure I could pressure wash it, but I was looking for something less messy.

Thanks. After posting this I found a thread from last year on grill cleaning. Someone suggested a wire brush attachment on a grinder. Think I’ll do that for a good thorough cleaning. Then use your scraper idea for maintenance. I used a hand held wire brush before, kind of a pain and didn’t work that well.

Not sure I would use a wire brush on a grinder or drill? I use a brass putty knife, works great on the stuck on gunk. For the easier things I use a cheap plastic scraper.

Go to the bass pro site and look up fish cleaning tables. I have a small plastic one with a built in sink that folds up and you can store it in the garage.

I was looking at that. Do you know what the size is of the sink portion is?

No I don’t on this one but mine is a little larger than a bar sink if that helps.

I bought a stainless steel double bowl sink with a faucet for $10 at a yard sale and built a down and dirty stand/base for it out of pressure treated lumber. It's hooked up to an outdoor hose bib with a washing machine hose. I have both hot and cold water outside, but you could survive with cold only.

I would think you can find a stainless sink or even the entire stainless table with sink at one of the restaurant resale shops.

I saw this on Amazon. If the sink basin was twice the size it would be perfect. But....
Thanks for looking out for me though.

So, what did you choose in the end? I am also looking to do a kind of a renovation, and my wife is also trying to convince me to get a sink outside so that I would be cleaning all of my barbecue stuff in there, and do not bring them in the house, as she really does not like it when I do that. I do not yet know what should I do and how should I do, as I have no knowledge of plumbing, that is why I have already called for the guys from SOS Plumber Liège as they are having the best specialists in this domain.
