Man! I tried to find fault with this cook and came up short. It looks great BTW! So, I’m gonna pick on your grass, which could use a little mowing. Also your table umbrella is kinda leaning in an awkward direction. I would have removed it from the shot. It’s just kinda back there like a photobomb. RL.

Since its January just above freezing the grass isn't getting cut.
The umbrella is / was a beach umbrella that I strap to the performer for cooking when it rains. But you are correct it needed to be put away. Panhead John

glitchy these wibs were done with Honey Heat.

Made some Vortex wings tonight. Sauced with a bit less than 15 min left with a mixture of teriyaki and Sweet Baby Ray's Original. Sides were broccoli and fried taters with onions and garlic.

Edit: The duck fat was really good with the mushrooms and onions.

HawkerXP thank you! I've been on a bit of a "French kick" lately since I've been forced indoors with the weather. Now that someone has noticed the pressure is on to maintain and/or improve!

When life gives you leftover pork roast...... make cubanos! You know the dinnerware brand......PHJ Basics and after market plate liner.

And yes, that’s last of season heirloom tomatoes that are still available here.

ecowper I know, so sad about the final end of wonderful summer tomatoes. But, in about two weeks we will be able to feel the lengthening days at our latitude 47. Shelley: "If winter comes, can spring be far behind?"

Dr. Pepper we are getting starts going in the house on Feb 1, they will be in the hothouse by Apr 1

ecowper my tomato season was done way before that this year (can’t figure out what happened!). The lovely you see is from a dear friend! Picked up fresh mozzarella today. There is one more caprese salad in my future. And I will be saving seeds from this tomato.

Sausage is like $4.29/# now. I remember when it was $1.99. BF’s family knows Bob well. Family tradition before parent got on I age was to go to San Gabriel, shop. Christmas gift to the kids was Dad would buy whatever you put in your basket. In the meantime, Bob would make us pizzas and we tailgated in the parking lot and visited with everyone. I’m in Tustin at least once a month.

My all time fav winter meal. Love the bouquet garni.

I meant to post these the other night when I made it, but I've been really busy with the fact that I started back to work after a long break yesterday. Being both a creature of habit and a relatively new chef I tend to make dishes that turn out really good quite frequently*, so once again here is some over the top chili

It was delicious, it pretty much always is now that I've mastered how I like to make it. The little plate without the avocado on it is the dog's plate Also, the eggplant shown on the grill was for some baba ghanoush my wife made (which was great!)

            * going to do another stir fry in my wok tonight the same way I did it a few days ago lol
