Congrats! I too struggle with what to charge when people want me to cook something for them. If it's someone I know, I'll cook them something the first time for free. they just have to purchase and bring me the meat . After that, what I do is a $20 minimum charge, or the price of the meat, whichever is greater. For instance if they want me to smoke them a couple of chickens, $20. If they want me to smoke them a $65 brisket, $65 to prep & smoke it. My mentality on that is, I don't need the practice, and if they don't like it they can do it themselves. Lol. If they agree to it, then hey I've made a little bit of beer and meat money myself.

Congratulations on your victory. Legalities aside (I haven’t a clue) I’d recommend if elect to proceed you talk with her about what all is involved and give her the option to purchase the whole brisket vs a chuck roast. All other pricing for ingredients and your time as you see fit or just have her buy the ingredients and do her a favor. Seriously, congratulations!
