    Komodo Kamado

The king of kamados falls under "Other Kamados and Misc". How quaint.

Well, let there at least be a thread dedicated to these beasts. Starting with this:

Nice! What sizes are those? I'd love to have one, but just can't justify the cost, all things considered.

Very nice. And to have two? That must be so much fun!

I'm an orphan of sorts, since the original Kamado company isn't around. Here's a post I did on my beast:

In remarkably good shape for a Richard Johnson kamado!

Those are works of art as well as great cookers!

Ah, yes, my White Whale! I will have a pair of these as well. Just need to move first! I think the biggest I will go is the Big Bad 32". Then I think I would get the table top 23" for a built in as well. Who doesn't want a model to sear with as well.

I think I would get the matte black tiles for the finish.

Your collection looks amazing. Thanks for starting this, I certainly agree that these need their own thread.

The BB32 is the best of the bunch in my opinion. Perfect blend of size and flexibility.

Exactly what I was thinking. The 42” is, and I can’t believe I am saying this, but, a little too big. 😂

Alas, I am moving in February so the backdrop will change. But the surrounding area in the foothills of the Blue Ridge is beautiful.

Thanks for starting the thread! I believe it should have its own category but meanwhile this will get it started.

I have been studying these since midsummer and hope to put one in my arsenal one of these days. I let another grill purchase get in the way in the past few weeks and the KK may have to wait a bit but I have full intentions of having one of the 32" Bad Boys.

Your grills are gorgeous and I cannot imagine having two!

Just remember, pebbles cook better than tiles.

Yes, I remember you schooled me on that before! I have taken it to heart.

Those are beauts. It’s not that we don’t appreciate the king of kamados. It’s just that not so many people can afford to own one, let alone a brace of them.

Mustang owner’s groups are far more populated than Bugatti Owner’s groups too.

Besides, if everyone owned one we wouldn’t all be jealous.

          Best regards,
          Jim

A brace. I like that. Fits better than "herd" or "gaggle,"

Thanks for pics and the new thread. I'm going to be watching this one. I love KK's and hoping to see more. When I grow up I too would like a couple of those bad boys.

What... Kalamazoo doesn't have its own channel under gas grills??

I couldn't even tell you the last time I looked at what all the "Channels" categories were (before tonight). I'm the type that just hits the "Recent Posts" a couple times a day and does a quick scroll to see what interests me.

Some additional pics of the 32 in action. Perfect size for two 14” pizzas, two loaves of ciabatta, or spinning multiple items at once.

But the 23 is no slouch either. I give you tea smoked duck and a double smoked glazed ham.

Great cooks and pics. There's a sense of an ancient art of cooking when looking at these two cookers. I want to photo shop in a panda and some bamboo shoots in the background of these pics. 🙂
