    Open pit rotisserie

I’m probably crazy, but was asked to do a whole pig for a small gathering. I purchased this rig

VEVOR store offers a full range of equipment & tools, kitchen supplies, home & garden service, etc. Shop our premium products at affordable prices.

I hope to do a few smaller cooks, chicken, pork butt etc to get familiar with it. My plan is for a 20 lb suckling next month.

Any advice, other than don’t do it? LOL

I so want to buy this, but I would have a very tough time convincing SWMBO, especially if she sees this picture!

Don't forget to stick an apple in little piggie's mouth. A real apple and not the phone. 😜

Although if you've got an Apple phone, I'd like to see it roasting, so I'll throw my vote in for that.

You do see my profile picture?

That little piggy was cooked in my wood fired oven. I no longer live there 🙁

        I see, big red apple.
Does an apple a day keep the Flys away?

Did a whole lamb once and it did look a lot like a dog, especially with the head off.

Looking at the height vs the horizontal bottom stand I’d plan ahead and get some weights, like sandbags, to prevent a tipping accident.

Get some cement blocks to build a wind break wall around one side and the ends,,,,

The rig looks decent enough for the price point. It also looks pretty versatile too. I would anchor the legs if cooking more than 30 pounds or so. It should be fun to pursue your house flavors and techniques with this. Traditional tacos pastor...'nuff said...lol

Building the pit today with cinder block. Also going to use heave gauge metal mesh floor floor for air flow. I plan to secure the base to this floor. I had wanted to buy additional accessories, rotisserie forks, etc, but this place doesn’t sell any and I can’t find anything that fits on a 3/4” rod. Will need to improvise to use for smaller animals. No dogs, I promise.
