Just arrived. Still need to assemble it and season it. Muscling 600# into back yard wore me out even with the help of a friend. Getting old sucks. Tomorrow is another day. More to follow, won't sleep tonight.

        Awesome looking rig!

I am curious - looking at the pictures and the, this is a charcoal or wood fired grill, not a smoker?

I was partial to the twin stacks, but then I'm a truck driver....

Wow! That is a super awesome looking rig. Is there any need for a water pan in this?

Thank you. I have only cooked once so far on it cooking a tomahawk ribeye. https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...ew-klose-grill
My past experience using charcoal has been uninformed, throw it on and burn it up. I bought this thinking I would just grill on it, but now I see I could do some low and slow and smoke also.

I have used a water pan only once in my YS640 and didn't notice a difference. I will be experimenting and learning and sharing as I go.

With a grill like that, nothing you cook will be too far off. ;-)

I have a cheap thin Dyna-Glo version of that. Something tells me yours is waaaaaay better!

Does it have tight enough vents that you can dial the temp down for low & slow smoking temps? Mine certainly doesn't but I knew that going in and didn't buy it for that.

                        Congratulations!

David makes great pits and grills, right here in my home town of Houston.

                        Enjoy.
