I only knew because i blind tested them side by side, I think Makers tried to reverse engineer Knob Creek.

Everyone has THEIR taste...I'm just a Makers fan, also like Bulleit. Bought a bottle of the 10 year Bulleit, it was good but in my opinion not worth the extra money, had a little more flavor as well as a bit more burn. Regardless of which you prefer over the other, you got two good bottles of bourbon to sip, so enjoy!

Hey Mr. Bones ... I prefer Knob Creek over Makers 46 ... but frankly, Woodford Reserve is better than both .... and I'm really a Scotch drinker anyway

I like me some Knob Creek, but I have not tasted Makers Mark 46 so I won't skew the voting

Not sure they can knock them off, they are all under the same roof. Jim beam owns both brands. From what I have learned, it comes down to the positioning in the barn/warehouse for aging that drives all factors. For instance, my favorite is Knob Creek single cask Reserve, its 120 proof, the barrels that don't make the cut (either diluted or as they want you to think - the alcohol evaporated) is the Jim Beam Devils Cut at 90 proof.
Either way the majority of the grain spirits are actually produced by a "factory" in Indiana!

Interesting poll... I would love to be able to vote but I've not tried Knob Creek yet. But after a quick google I found that my local "candy store" has three different ones.
        No1: https://www.danmurphys.com.au/produc...-bourbon-700ml
        No2: https://www.danmurphys.com.au/produc...-whiskey-700ml
        No3: https://www.danmurphys.com.au/produc...-bourbon-700ml

I would like to know which one is up for vote....

Or or maybe....hmmm and believe me I would 'absolutely' hate having to try all three....hmmm 'hate' to.....try all three.....love candy....

I have tried 3 different Maker's products, 3 different Jack Daniels products, some Pappy, and a few others in my time. The Pappy Van Winkle 15 was the absolute smoothest. Of the remaining Whisky/Bourbon on the list (you know, the stuff ppl can find and afford), My favorite is Maker's Mark Cask Strength (113 proof). It has just enough fire at the end to make you happy you chose bourbon instead of rum. =) I have never been a scotch guy, but I hear that at 113 proof, this is getting close.

I don't drink my Scotch at cask strength, personally ..... If you have an opportunity, give Lagavulin 16 year old a whirl. You might change your mind about Scotch ;-)

Steve Vojtek is American bourbon where you live held in a similar regard as Scotch is here in the states- meaning largely more expensive than domestic whiskey and held by some as superior because of that fact?

I was always a bigger Maker's 46 fan than Knob. Recently I've acquired a taste more toward Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare, with ER being my current favorite of the affordable whiskies.

ecowper Huskee I fully agree; Buffalo Trace quite handily trumps both listed in my poll.
Jus' wondered what folks thought about these two, head t' head.
