One of my favourite sippers, and my ‘probably will never open it because the chances of ever getting another bottle are zero’ option for a suitably special occasion.

It's outstanding and an absolute steal for under $70.00

Found a big ol’ bottle of Sazerac today at the lake - perfect for my Old Fashioneds down here! And then a little sipper while I was making dinner. This Woodford is just a great bottle to sip on!

I just bought my first bottle of Sazerac today. I’ll be using it for Old Fashioneds tomorrow.

barelfly what is your go to Old Fashioned recipe.

              ssandy_561

              Old Fashioned

              1 large ice rock
              5 dashes Orange bitters
              2 dashes Angostura bitters
Bar spoonful of Demerara simple syrup (I make this at home, 2 parts Demerara sugar, 1 part water)
Rye bourbon (any rye, but I use a variety - Wild Turkey 101 Rye, Rittenhouse, Sazerac)

Stir all ingredients for 20 seconds then add:

Orange peel expressed on drink and rim of glass
              Luxardo Cherry

              Cheers!!!!

Have you seen my OF recipe on the free site? I've begun using a pinch less syrup than it currently calls for, but my recipe is unique in that I shake it, with ice, but use no ice in the glass = no dilution!

If you happen to have Rare Breed barrel strength rye, please use it if you try my recipe. Cut the simple syrup to 1/4-1/3 less than it says.

Huskee I love it! I've been drinking New Riff since the distillery opened and I pretty much like 'em all and always have a couple bottles on hand. The one pictured is a pick that a buddy of mine did, but the standard barrel proof and the BiB are very good too. The ABV for the BiB & the barrel proofers fall are squarely in my wheelhouse. That said, ass much as I love the bourbon, I don't care for the rye. They're are okay, but nothing special.

I need to try their BP bourbon, I don't think I have or I've forgotten it. I typically favor ryes, but I know a couple excellent bourbon distillers (talkin' to you Woodford, Elijah Craig, and EH Taylor) don't make as good of ryes, oddly enough. Sounds like New Riff might be with them. Am I remembering it right they "age" some or all of their stuff with staves instead of full barrel aging?

My "dessert" old fashioned - start with a quality BIB, add cranberry bitters, Collins' candied orange twist, 2 Luxardo cherries with a 1/4tsp of their syrup, and an irresponsible quantity of ice. love it

[edit to say...]. to be clear... the cranberry bitters were leftover from the thanksgiving cocktail i had all planned out but forgot to make; and the candied orange rind was a gift .... it's not like i normally stock these items

First bottle of FR for my collection. And it’s a special pick with the OSBO recipe! First sips are good! Can’t wait for this to open up a bit as I get dinner ready!

I love a handle of Benchmark for the mid Twentys. Great mixer or even straight up.

I can get EH Taylor. But not at $45.

Got a bottle from a select barrel last year, that I haven't cracked.

I had a perfectly good cube leftover....no use wasting it

Sweaty Paul It's very good...similar to the 1920, but it brings a little more heat that benefits from a splash, or over a cube. That said, I still prefer the 1920

Using up the last of that cube...
