Pretty much my favorite gin, holds up well in mixes. I age Beefeater in oak barrels.

      G&Ts...proper nectar that.

Taken minutes ago, whiskey sour, homemade simple syrup and juiced lemons. Cheers!

      Yeah. Splain away 🤓

So this is interesting, I absolutely love Woodford Reserve, and one of my all-time favorite whiskies is Woodford Reserve Double Oaked (incredible) , and I love rye whiskey. So it stands to reason that I should love Woodford Rye, right? I tried it about a year ago I wasn't impressed. I thought maybe it was just contextual, maybe whatever I had eaten or drank before that didn't sit right. So I tried it again tonight. I still don't like Woodford Reserve Rye. Call me crazy.

Rating: 5/10. Most ryes have a very sweet finish even though you might not think it. But Woodford Rye: bland, boring, bitter, unappealing. That's how I describe the finish. It's a decent whiskey if there's nothing else out there, decent as a mixe. But it certainly doesn't live up to the Woodford Reserve name, of course this is purely my opinion. I look forward to reading anyone else's opinions especially if they differ from mine!

Mr. Bones do you mean rye? No. Do you mean the bourbon I've aged? Yes! Highly recommended.

What's going in the big mug?
If I'm correct I'm sure I read PBC instructions say to have enough pavers to cover total drum area underneath, so much for you being a PBC purist.
Think you need to need to take it easy with the mix in the mug ☺

surfdog Thanks for the reply. Not far from my former home for a few years in Ft. Walton Beach where I was stationed when I was in the Air Force, where my Daughter was born.

Willard Normally I would have just kept going to Pensacola...I mean, it’s ok 50-odd miles. But I was hungry and wasn’t feeling it. LOL
Glad I stopped. The restaurant was pretty good, and right off the freeway at HWY 85. La Rumba. I’ll be back the next time I roll through.

And yeah, in relative terms Ft. Walton Beach is "right down the street."
