I have two 2-quart glass pitchers that my wife got from Target. I use a 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup, filled with hot water and 4 Twinings English Breakfast teabags, steeped for five minutes, to make a quart of tea. I then make my lemonade recipe (below), which makes a little over 3 quarts in a gallon pitcher. Two quarts for lemonade for the wife and daughter, the other quart mixed with the tea for 2 quarts of Arnold Palmers for me and my son. We have been buying Costco out of lemons! They are a great way to beat the heat -- I've been drinking these instead of coffee in the morning!
2 cups sugar
2 cups fresh lemon juice (about 6 large lemons)
10 2/3 cups water (divided)
Make simple syrup: Put the sugar and 1 1/3 cups water in a small saucepan, bring to a boil, and let cool.
Juice the lemons. (I use a juicer attachment on my KitchenAid mixer, and I microwave the lemons for about 30 seconds before juicing to increase yield.)
Mix the lemon juice, simple syrup, and remaining 9 1/3 cups of water in a pitcher.
Enjoy!
