    Cocktail thread: Feeling like tequila

I saw the sun today and it made me want a tequila cocktail. Here are a few I looked up and one I invented.

First, we have a tequila-based martini.

    Tequini

    2 1/2 oz. blanco tequila
    1/2 oz. dry vermouth
    1 dash of aromatic bitters
Olive, or lemon twist, for garnish

Next is a twist on the Cosmopolitan.

    Passion Cocktail

    1 ounces tequila
    1.5 ounces cranberry juice
    .5 ounce lime juice
    1 splashes brandy-based orange liqueur
    Lime slices, for garnish

The name is self-explanatory. I'm looking forward to this one.

    Tequila Sour

2 ounces (4 tablespoons) tequila reposado
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) lemon juice
½ ounce (1 tablespoon) lime juice
2 teaspoons agave nectar or simple syrup
    2 dashes Angostura bitters
    1 egg white*
For the garnish: Cocktail cherry and lime wedge

Finally, here's one I came up with a week or so ago when I wanted something with a little less ABV.

    Little Jalisco

    1 oz. Repasodo
    1/2 oz. Cointreau
    1/4 oz. of lime juice
    Bar spoon of agave syrup
    Soda water

    What will you be drinking?

Had a couple margaritas with my late lunch/early dinner…now I’m having a G&T while I talk to the GF and practice a little guitar.

I may make this for my wife tomorrow! I don’t know if I have lemon juice, but can pick it up. I also couldn’t find agave at the store today, as that is what I use for my margarita concoction, but I can make simple syrup…and also use that for some Old Fashioneds!

      Thanks for sharing this!

You could also just use Cointreau for the sweet component. It's hard to go wrong with Cointreau and tequila.

I found Agave at Wally World today, but made her another margarita this evening to redeem the overly tart concoction from last night. I’ll make this one at home soon, as I am interested in the addition of the bitters. This recipe though, very close to how i make my margaritas if you take out the bitters and egg white.

At the lake house this weekend, so simple..well, I guess I’m pretty simple on the beverage anyways.

WHen here, the local grocer has a sweet selection of spirits, so I picked up a bottle of Knob Creek 9yr Single Barrel Reserve that is really good! I also grabbed a bottle of some BT, because this is the only place I can find it - and, bonus - it is a store pick barrel! This little grocer is almost like a honey hole

And for the wife, I picked up a bottle of Casamigos Anejo Tequila for margaritas. The last few bottles of I’ve picked up for her, I’ve started to take a sip of the tequila straight and man is it good! Smooth and flavorful…I guess that is what happens when you buy good tequila as well

The KC 9 is good. Really good. 120 proof gives it a little heat, but it’s really good! Attjack
