    Hitting the Old Fashioned Trail

All of these culinary journeys that one gets on amcan be so much fun! Having grown up in Wisconsin I have always had an appreciation for a good Old Fashioned.

For Christmas this last year, 2021, I received a Buffalo Trace Perfect Old Fashioned Mix Kit. It is for some reason that today is the day that I try the recipe on the box.

I have everything together and now it is time to mix and drink. My review will come later on how it turned out taste wise.

I will likely start a thread later on down the road where I will try different Old Fashioned cocktails from different mixology practitioners.

Thanks Purc. It might get expensive quick. But still worth it. Make sure you subscribe to this thread and I will keep it active in the future.

Is that "Old Fashioned Mix" actual sweet vermouth?

As a Wisconsin resident, I appreciate your Old Fashion trail. We have one night a year in our La Crosse down town where it is a old fashion bar hop night.

I invite you to explore a very popular option in Wisconsin, that is the brandy old fashion. Wisconsin loves their brandy.

At a loss to figure out what is in that mix being an Old Fashioned is just bourbon/rye, sugar and angostura/orange bitters. But good luck on your journey!

The green-labeled bottle must be simple syrup.
