I would like to bring attention to That BBQ Joint on 901 Williamson St, Madison, WI 53703 (Closed Monday and Tuesday). Just so you know my background, I have been a small time (2 - 3 contests a year) competitor for over 12 years and have eaten at many of the Classic BBQ restaurants in the US. I will say that That BBQ Joint is tied with Pappy's Smokehouse (St Louis) for the best ribs that I have ever eaten at a restaurant. Pulled pork is really good, Brisket and chicken are just OK for me. I really like mixing their regular and hot BBQ sauce together. Sides are quite good but the Hush Puppies are outstanding. Highly recommend a visit if you are in Madison.

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.

Thanks! I had heard of a place called "Fat Jack's" I think that's near Mad Town. I might go rent the old Cessna 172 out and make a day trip to check that place out.
