Well, the Texas Monthly and others love it. I thought it wouldn't make the top 10 list in Ft. Worth but would be the best BBQ in Dallas.
I read the reviews and the glowing praise. Maybe at their best they are better. I had the ribs, brisket and pulled pork. I asked for brisket off the point but they only had flats left. They were overcooked but good. They sliced them pretty thick (a trick for overcooked brisket) and had a nice flavor. SMALL smoke ring. Ribs were about the right texture, not falling off the bone but easily removed and a decent bark. They were dry rub and not sauced/glazed at the end. The pulled pork was a bit shy on bark and smoke....but tasted fine.
Like I said, it wouldn't make the Ft Worth top 10 list. But it would be the best BBQ joint in Dallas for sure.
