Best BBQ In KC? Here's A Good List

Well, this is my lucky day. First, I find this post. Second, discover I'm within a 10 minute drive of two of the places. I'm going to have to give Scott's a try. I had a buddy stop by earlier this year and he was not impressed, must have been an off day. What surprises me on the list is Gates. That is a classic place in KC but I have never been a fan. Still, plenty of great options in that article though. I also love Q39. When we were working in the office more we would get over there at least once a month. Used to be a day when you couldn't even consider that place unless you had a reservation 2-3 days in advance, even for lunch.

My manager lives in KC - talking to him on the phone about this list. He says Harp is one of his favorites, and remembers when he and friends would ride their bikes to Harp when he was back behind some trailers and barrels, cooking up some great BBQ. Now Harp is a restaurant that is just as good and one of his favorites!
He also said Q39 is a great spot to eat.
the last thing he mentioned, he enjoyed this list because it wasn’t an article discussing the same spots that everyone knows.
Thanks for sharing!

I agree with Q39 and Scott's Kitchen. Both serve up some great brisket and ribs that aren't priced out of reach for most of us.
There are so many good places and they each have things that are special and unique to them.

Best BBQ In KC? Here's A Good List
Kansas City Magazine list their best BBQ joints but they passed on some good ones that use gas assists like Slaps. Several I haven't tried, but I love Q39 ranked #3.
