Actually, my house has the best BBQ, one out of 10 cooks that is.

Yvonne and I ate out on our 34th anniversary Saturday afternoon at a fancy place near us called "Char" that everyone in town seems to rave about for its steaks. We ate early, so dined on the lunch menu and we had $200 in gift cards but Yvonne just decided to go with something OTHER than steak because she said I made her the best steak at home! So I guess I gotta vote with Troutman

However, I did have "Steak Frites" which was very very good, with a couple of IPA's to wash it down. And two appetizers.... and a desert! While Yvonne ate a "Thai Ginger Peanut Chicken Salad", drank gingerale and watched me be a glutton...

Davek8282 thanks! Yvonne had to take a couple of anti-nausea meds, and while we made it through the late lunch, we opted out of the movie we had planned to see, and went home, and found something we could watch from the couch instead...

Never been a fan. Always thought our local outback was a better chain steakhouse.

Close at 11 Jerod Broussard get the bone in ribeye, the bloomin onion, and the thunder from down under for dessert. If the fillet sandwich is on the menu, that is fantastic too.

texastweeter I'll find one on my next trip out of town. Thanks!

Now I just need to find something on MarketPlace to purchase close to one of these locations.

6 months ago while I was visiting Chattanooga, friends and I tried to go to Texas Roadhouse in Hixson on a Monday night at 6pm and we had a 30 to 40 minute wait. We went to Outback instead, walked right in and had a lousy steak dinner. No wonder there was no waiting in line.

We have been going to Outback when we fly out of Denver and have noticed too that their quality has dropped. In Ft Lauderdale there was one by the hotel. We waited over an hour after ordering to be served and at best the place was half full. Our server got fed up with the bar as we were waiting for our refills of wine. She went over there and filled them to the brim herself.

Our son gave us a gift card for Texas Roadhouse for Christmas. Haven’t gotten around to using it yet. We went there a lot many years ago when our son worked there right out of high school. Always loved it. Have not been there in a very long time. Maybe this week! Son says to use their app to preregister and avoid the long wait. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

It takes us ~ 10 min to get to the main road. There are 3 steak houses within 5 min of when we get to the main road - Outback, Lonestar, and Texas Roadhouse. I don't care for any of their steaks, and don't order a steak from any of them. OB's Bloomin Onion is good. The ribs at TR aren't too bad either. Only went to Lonestar once - got a steak and didn't go back.

      Now get off my lawn!

I've always been a fan of Texas Roadhouse - their steaks are decent and you can improve your chances by picking out your steak. Not to mention that the prices are much better than Longhorn or Outback. Unfortunately, we don't get to go very often because I normally drive right through the parking lot after seeing how busy it is.

Usually get Texas Roadhouse for pickup about once per week. I want no part of the crowd and the wait. I've never been all that impressed with the steaks, but anything with the chicken is good. I usually get the grilled chicken salad. Wife gets the smothered chicken. Just have to check the bag before I leave to make sure everything got in there that should have.

No offense to my Kentucky friends, but all I can say is please remove the word Texas from your name. We have no claim on your all be it decent but non-Texan fare.

Yea their headquarters is in Kentucky. It's not a Texas original, just supposedly a Texas style of cooking (which is simply grilling).

          Thanks for the info.
It appears Texas BBQ is copied all over the world.
There is even Busters Texas BBQ up here in Oregon.

The best steak I've ever had in a nationwide chain was in a Texas Roadhouse. In a repeat visit years later I wasn't so lucky, but I remember that first one.
