Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Jesse82 Click the cartoon pig at the top-left of any page, where it says "Go to the channels page". That's like our table of contents, showing all the main channel categories. Scroll down to whatever fits your topic best, then click the red heading. That will take you to any sub-channels that might be in that main channel. Also, be sure to scan through our Help section, it's the first (far left) menu option in the main red menu bar. There's a lot of FAQs and tutorials in there.
I live in central FL and am not aware of any restaurant serving those although there are some meat shops selling one you can cook. Wild Fork in Orlando sells them as does Wassi's in Melbourne. You can also order them from Creekstone, I just received four.
You'd be hard pressed to find any restaurant that can make them as well as you can at home with just a little practice. Beef ribs are pretty forgiving. As long as you get them rendered, there is little chance you will dry them out.

The Villages? All I can say is be careful what color loofah you put on your rental golf cart! I have heard......"things"..
Anyhow I am in South Florida, you will be in Central Florida. A completely different part of the state. Sorry I can't help, but I really do not get up there too often, and when I do I just sort of wing it. Last time I was in the Lake Wales area, sort of nearby but not really. I was staying at a State Park campground so I was cooking over an open fire using the campsite grill as it was.
Lake Wales is a little under a two hour drive from The Villages, unless you're on I-4 going through Orlando, then it's 5 hours. The Villages is the poster child for unsustainable growth and development at all cost that is destroying Florida.
Bkhuna Florida was overdeveloped years ago, so nothing new there. It is getting worse, at least in South Florida. But at this point all I can do is look forward to the day when the rich part of Miami is below low tide, and then the sliver of property I own will suddenly become much more valuable, being a few feet higher. Then I can sell and bail. Possibly to the Lake Wales area, if it is still reasonably affordable.
Equipment:
'88 Vintage Fire Magic gasser with over 4000 cooks to its credit
Large Big Green Egg
18 Inch Weber Kettle (Rescued from neighbor's trash)
Rotisserie for 18 inch kettle
Dyna Glo propane smoker
Pit Barrel Cooker
Smokey Joe with mini WSM mod
Garcima paella burner
Anova Sous Vide
Slaiya Sous Vide (gift)
LEM grinder, sausage stuffer and meat slicer (all gifts)
The Villages is pretty much out in the boondocks. I'm in Orlando - Santiago's Bodega and Texas de Brazil have beef short ribs. Bodega's are in some kind of Hoisin or similar sauce. I can't recommend them, and they're still 60 miles or so from the Villages. Like others, I far prefer home Q'd. You might check around Ocala or Leesburg for BBQ joints.
Cookers:
SnS Kettle with SnS Deluxe, SS & Cast iron pans, elevated grate.
Grilla OG with upper shelf and pizza stone.
Weber Genesis SA-E-330 LP INDIGO with SS Grates, Weber Crafted frame kit, baking stone, griddle (2/3), all from Ace Hardware.
Everything Else:
SnS #3 I was their first customer.
Sous Vide equipment.
Instant read and leave-in thermometers.
Grill Grates.
Kingsford Blue Bag, Weber lighter cubes, Weber charcoal chimneys.
BBQr's Delight Hickory & Apple flavor pellets, propane torch, 12" smoke tube.
Grilla apple & hickory pellets, Royal Oak charcoal pellets.
Rubs with salt: Meat Church, Meathead's.
Rubs without salt: SnS Grills Rocky's Rub and Not Just for Beef.
Rubs home-mixed: None at this time.
Spices: Lots of 'em.
Sorry, can't help. I haven't been to, or seen, any bbq restaurants...yet. Still getting settled in and discovering what's in my area. However I have found a butcher shop fairly close that I'll be checking out.
If your willing to drive, Kings Taste BBQ in Eustice has great ribs, pork and chicken but no beef and limited hours. Pearl Country Store in Micanopy is a hidden gem.
Both of these places are within an hour drive from The Villages. Unless your on a golf cart.

Jesse82 The only places I know that serve Dino beef ribs remotely close to that area are Atlantic Beach BBQ https://www.abbqmeatdrink.com and a Brazilian steakhouse in Jacksonville. With ABBQ it's best to call ahead because they don't serve them every day. Also, they are closed on Mondays.
