I feel the same. But they have their fans just like the Weber kettles do. They last forever, and there's a lot of nostalgia with the brand. I wanted to want one a few yrs ago but I couldn't talk myself into it.

Huskee my initial thought was that it is a glorified Weber kettle. I'm a kettle connoisseur, but I never would have become one if they were up in that price range. To each their own, I suppose.

Many folks appreciate their rectangle shape, that it's more conducive to a better 2-zone setup, easier to tuck food into a corner than on a round kettle. I agree in theory that it has its advantages in build and shape. But like you say, at that price I can't do it either. If I found a used one real cheap I'd give it a go probably. And I totally agree with "to each their own"! This is a good sale for someone who wants one.
