Trussing a bird for spinning's not that hard. I'll stick to string and not add more clutter to the drawer.

I didn’t report back on this like I should have. My turkey lost a hand somewhere in combat, so I had to improvise and string in an artificial hand, then when I had to recenter my bird at show time, I either didn’t get a set screw tight or tightened down on a corner of the spit rod. If it weren’t for the turbo trusser, Turkey day probably would have been an epic fail actually. With a full bird, I think these would be great.

String has the advantage of being disposable.

I usually spatchcock or even halve birds, but options are nice too for variety.

I will be interested in your thoughts. I haven’t really thought about trussing a bird for ages as I am usually spatchcocking or this year splitting into parts to roast and sous vide separately.

I spin 80-90% of the time. Rotisserie is mighty tasty.

I started to the same, then quickly realized it’s one of the smaller BBQ purchases I made this year so missing out on saving a few extra buck wasn’t a big deal.

That's neat, but I never truss a bird.

For the Whirly Birders - Turbo Trusser 20% Off Thru 11/29

The Turbo Trusser is a rapid trussing device for use with whole Chickens and Turkeys. Just Hook & Cook for a juicier bird every time. Use in Ovens, Smokers, Grills, Roasters, Rotisserie’s and Deep Fryers.

Discount will show in cart. I just got one of each of the Turkey and Chicken Turbo Tussers for myself last week before the discount was announced. I haven't tried them yet, but these look pretty slick. I'm planning on trying out the Turkey Trusser in just a couple days
