For a "very limited time" the Thermoworks Thermopop is 40% off. That makes it $21. We love ours. Use it all the time. Could never justify $100 for the Thermapen. https://www.thermoworks.com/ThermoPop

That's a great buy! If I didn't have a Thermapen I paid $59 for years ago, and an older Thermoworks pocket digital, I would get one of these in a heartbeat. Already gave all my kids and my folks Thermopops for Christmas a couple of years ago... they make great gifts for folks that like to cook or grill.

Yes. I use mine constantly....first seemed like th way to dial in my griddle, an It Was Good....
Dawned on me shortly, thereafter, to assure proper desired temp on my CI skillet(s)
My (Deity accursed) lectric stovetop an me, we are NOT friends...mine doesn't have even any 'psuedo-incrementation'
Long story short: Th IR works, rocks, exceeded my wildest expectations, an doubles up as a Legendary Cat Toy...

They are GREAT! I had two, got 'em for $25 which was a steal. Gave one to a friend when he got his ReqTeq. Now I need a few more. lol
<edit> Agreed, couldn't justify 4x the cost or so for a Thermapen so I could save a second or so on the read.

Cooking gadgets
Weber Summit Charcoal Grill Center
Weber Summit Platinum D6
Blue Rhino Razor
Dyna-Glo XL Premium Dual Chamber
Camp Chef Somerset IV along with their Artisan Pizza Oven 90
Anova WiFi
Thermometers
Thermapen Mk4 - ThermaQ High Temp Kit - ThermaQ Meathead Kit - ThermaQ WiFi - ThermoWorks IR-GUN-S - ThermoWorks Signals & Billows - ThermoPop -ThermoWorks ProNeedle - ThermoWorks TimeStick Trio x2 - and a Christopher Kimball timer - NO, I do not work for ThermoWorks...I just like their products.
Other useful bits...
KitchenAid 7-qt Pro Line stand mixer
A Black & Decker food processor that I can't seem to murder
A couple of immersion blenders, one a "consumer" model & the other a "high end" Italian thing. Yes, the Italian one is a bit better, but only marginally
Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus 8-qt + accessories like egg-bite & egg holders
All-Clad pots & pans, along with some cast iron...everything from 7" Skookie pans to 8.5qt Dutch ovens
Weber GBS griddle, pizza stone, and wok
Knives range from Mercer to F. Dick to "You spent how much for one knife? One knife?!" LOL
Great deal…I’ve given away several. Makes a great ‘first real thermometer.â€
I might even have one hanging around here somewhere but my Thermapen is the one I always reach for. Though I do keep one of they’re other “fast’ probes in my bag in case a battery goes kaput.
FWIW, the Thermapen One is great. Not sure it’s worth the upgrade if one already has a Mark IV (I had two) but overall it’s a great addition. I gave my sons the Mk IVs that I had. I gave them ThermoPops years ago…and they use them regularly, so what the heck…now they have a Mk IV & a Pop.
