Sorry for the delay in giving you updates. I just returned from Grand Bahama last night. Most of the video and pictures do not show the true devastation in Grand Bahama. I had the chance to talk to many of the families picking up meals and each one of them talked about how quick it happened and how lucky they were to have gotten out of the area. They are now living in tents on their property or with family near by but many lost their vehicles so even coming to get meals is difficult. The appreciation they showed for a good hot meal was quite amazing. The resiliency of the people of Grand Bahama is inspiring to witness.
On Thursday, we surpassed 3 million meals served since May of 2011. The meal was served in Freeport, Bahamas. The families receiving the meals were very appreciative for the pulled pork and red beans and rice served. We are airlifting supplies and meals in twice a day from Fort Lauderdale into Grand Bahama. To ensure sanitary conditions and food safety we elected to set up our field kitchen, smokers etc in Fort Lauderdale. Through some local connections we were connected with a historic WWII era DC-3 plane named the "Miss Montana" From Missoula, Montana.

After 6 days of serving hot meals in the greater Freeport area we have provided the one hot meal that matters approximately 51,000 times!

We wanted to share with you some pictures from the 3 millionth meal service.
Feeding from St Johns Jubilee Cathedral in Freeport. Volunteers from the church and a small OBR Team on Grand Bahama.
The 3 million meal was served in that line on Thursday.
VW Van buried under debris that was about 7 Ft tall. Came to rest against several house in a neighborhood in East Grand Bahama
This was down the street where they were not leaving their home. The island has mandated no rebuilding as they a working on upgrading building requirements but many of these people have already gutted their homes and starting to redo what is needed.
