From OBR on 5/31/19
Partners, Sponsors and Supporters,
We are mobilizing teams to start feeding in multiple communities today. We will be setting up outside Dayton OH and outside Kansas City KS from this weeks devastating tornadoes.
Dayton OH area we started feeding today and fed 1935 meals today. This will be escalating over the weekend since it is the first weekend after tornado. We believe we could be up to 4500 meals a day and anticipate we will be there the next 5-7 days.
Kansas City KS area we will be feeding over the weekend. The area is anticipating a lot of volunteers and homeowners working to clean up and culling through the rubble looking for personal/family items. We are anticipating that we will feed 1000 a day for a couple days.
We are working on potential locations in Oklahoma and Arkansas to set up for feeding in the communities affected by the widespread flooding along the Arkansas River. At this time we don’t have finalized locations. As the water is starting to recede we will know more in the next few days and will update you. This will probably be the largest need as the population affected is quite large and wide spread.
At this time we are not publicizing the locations of the Dayton or KC locations to ensure people do not self deploy to the locations to help. We need to control the volunteers that are coming into help as there is such a thing as too many cooks in the kitchen. If you or some of your employees are interested in volunteering the best way for them to volunteer is to download the "OBR Volunteer App" from iTunes or Google Play, register as a volunteer and then look for events to volunteer for.
Thank you again for your support. I will update you again soon.
