I have the Open Range Smoker. The charcoal box is rectangular and there are two air intake vents mounted horizontally on the box...one on the left side, and one on the right side. If I use a thermostatically controlled fan on say on just the right side, will that create issues? Like maybe the heat becomes uneven or the coals on the left side of the box don't get any fan air? Do I need to mount a fan on both the left and right air intake vents?
Unless it is blowing directly onto the coals it does not matter. All it is doing is raising the air pressure inside the firebox. You blow in one side of a ballon but the whole thing inflates theory.
